Minor Operations
We perform various minor surgical procedures in the surgery treatment room. These include:
- removal of some skin lesions and lumps and bumps.
- skin biopsy (to find out exactly what a lesion is).
- joint injections (steroid injections).
- joint aspiration (removal of excess fluid).
- removal of ingrowing toenails
Some of these procedures will involve a local anaesthetic injection. Sometimes lesions are best treated with cryotherapy (freezing) or electrocautery (burning). We have special equipment for both of these procedures.
Please book a routine appointment with your usual doctor, who will be able to advise you whether you have a condition that is suitable for surgery/treatment.
We usually do minor operations at the end of morning surgery. However, cryotherapy is done in a special clinic. If you need cryotherapy we will book you in and call you when the clinic is ready to run.
